Is the housing waiting list open?: The waiting list for Lincoln County PHA and St. Charles County PHA are closed at this time. Applications are not being accepted at this time. Watch the local newspapers when announcements are made to open the waiting lists.
When can I make an application for rental assistance?: Local newspapers will advertise the date and time when the waiting list is open for applications.
Where can I make an application for rental assistance?: When the waiting list is opened, you can make an applications at the NECAC county service center in your county. (list the county office sites)
Where am I on the housing waiting list?: Your placement on the housing waiting list is based on the date and time you applied. You will receive a letter that verifies you are on the waiting list.
Is your housing agency absorbing or billing for portable families?: The decision to absorb or bill is based on the availability of funding.
The inspection of my unit passed, now when will I receive rental assistance?: The landlord will sign a Housing Assistance Payment Contract and Lease. The lease is signed by the family and all documents are returned to the NECAC Service Center. The family sill receive a notice of their portion and the housing authority portion of rent. The family can call their local NECAC Service Center at any time to determine progress of the required paperwork.
I need emergency housing, do you have funds for emergency housing?: The local NECAC Service Center will be the contact point to determine if emergency housing assistance is available. The Housing Choice Voucher Program is not an emergency housing rental assistance program.
Do you have a listing of landlords?: You may contact the local NECAC Service Center and request a listing of landlords in that county. (see listing of NECAC service centers)
When I begin receiving rental assistance, what is my portion of rent?: Your rent portion will be based on your current income and family composition.
