The Public Information Officer (PIO), under the direction of the NECAC President and CEO, is responsible for communicating policies, programs and issues concerning the organization to NECAC Board Members, NECAC staff, elected officials, volunteers and the general public.  This information is presented in the form of press releases to newspapers, radio and television stations; informational audio/visual presentations, semi-monthly newsletter and through public appearances and interviews.

The PIO maintains a database of media contacts, elected officials, funding sources and other interested parties for use by the agency.  The PIO writes and develops brochures, flyers and other promotional items for distribution to the public.  The office coordinates all advertizing for the agency including employment notices.

The PIO acts as the NECAC historian and maintains an archive of material regarding NECAC’s performance in the media.  The PIO assists in the planning and execution of the agency’s annual meeting.
