Program Overview
Applying for Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) is an easy process. Please review all the information on this page before applying for the waiting list.

How do I apply
Online Application Requirements
- Full name for all household members
- Date of birth for all household members
- Social Security Number for all household members
- Source of Income and amount for household members
The SCCHAP gives one preference point to applicants who “live and/or work” in the above listed area and one preference point to applicants who are “Elderly/Disabled”. You are required to submit proof of any preferences within 30-days of your application date. Failing to provide the required proof will result in the denial of your application.

ANY DOCUMENTATION OR AUTHORIZATIONS RECEIVED PRIOR TO THE SCCHAP WAITING LIST OPENING WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Background Checks
All household members age 17 and older for Violent Criminal or Drug-Related Activity.
Fingerprinted
Applicants are required to be fingerprinted. There's no charge to the individual. Instructions will be received during the briefing process.

After I Apply
If you are added to the waiting list for the Public Housing program, you will be notified by mail when your name comes to the top of the waiting list or if we are updating our files. If you do not respond to our notifications, or your letter is returned from the post office, your name will be removed from the waiting list.
Please keep your personal contact information up to date. After applying, you are required to update any changes in your name, address, phone number, email address, income and family size.
